CBD, it’s more than just a buzzword or a trendy supplement.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of 113 known cannabis compounds (or cannabinoids) naturally occurring in the cannabis plant family, which includes hemp plants. The CBD compound reacts with the human body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) by binding with cannabinoid receptors to relay specific messages and functions throughout the body. It’s important to note that CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, so there is no ’high’ achieved from using a product containing only CBD. CBD is most commonly found in oil or powder form and can be ingested in a variety of different ways depending on the user and their desired results.
There are three distinct types of CBD:
This form of CBD contains all the compounds present in the source plant, meaning that in addition to CBD, there will be other cannabinoids (i.e.THC, CBC) and terpenes present in the final product.
This variety of CBD contains a wide array of compounds that are present in the source plant, with the exception of THC. This psycho-active compound is removed during the extraction process to remove the threat of potential impairment.
This is the purest variety of CBD as all other compounds are removed during the extraction process.
From Seed to CBD
Not all CBD is created equal. The hemp plant is an excellent “hyperaccumulator.” This means that it easily absorbs anything present in the ground where it was grown, including heavy metals and pesticides. We use PEI certified quality land to grow our hemp on. This is critical. In the EU, the pesticide and farming laws are stricter, leading many consumers to prefer their hemp-derived CBD come from Europe. Only hemp grown in rich soil will be of high-quality and will produce CBD oil of the same high-quality. The highest quality CBD always comes from companies that are involved in production from seed to shelf.
It is essential that any CBD product is thoroughly tested, ideally by a third-party lab.
This is to ensure that the product is free from any harmful toxins and heavy metals. In addition, it is also important to confirm the concentration of CBD and to ensure that it is genuinely THC-free.
We always test in third-party labs to ensure you can trust that our products contain only the purest, most high-quality ingredients.
